My Magentis

Hi people, thought I would like to share (aka hao lian) my newest addition to my life: My Magentis.

Do feel free to give any comments.


From this picture, it can be seen my wipers have been changed to the Bosch Aerotwins.










When I first saw the EX words, I was worried it might mean my ride is like the Forte Ex with bare minimum features.






Frankly speaking, just by looking at the front of a Magentis and a Forte, you cannot tell which is which, since they are identical. I thought I saw a black Magentis at IMM yesterday afternoon (Friday) from the fron view. Upon closer inspection, I realised it was a Ebony Black Forte. So, I've been fooled!






Lastly, just to display my gf's collection she insists on putting in my Magentis. Oh well, she's the boss...

Will be posting pictures of my interior after I clean it up a bit.

Yes, it does look identical cos the designer got the design of forte and implement it on all other model such as the Magentis, Cerato Koup & Sorento. It's like cloning and making it into different machines.

It can easy identify by the lower part of the headlight where Forte has got a jagger part in the centre to make it more fierce wherereas the Magentis is even through out cos it's a more classy car.

I heard that even the new Picanto FL will have the same grill. I guess they want something identifiable to be a KIA.

One problem I realise is that is it quite long. I only realised it's length when I parked at Tampines Mall. Even after parking right to the line at the rear, my car still stuck out so visibily. I guess TM is not known for having length lots. If my ride has this problem, I'm sure those BMW 7 series will have even more problem.

I called a Magentis as Elder Forte.

the only way to identify a Magentis is its profile (or height). Magentis is lower than a Forte.

Yeah, first time using electric seats. Very nice...
Unfortunately, only the driver has it. The front passenger doesn't. No cruise control, no rear aircon vents. If it has, I think this will be the perfect ride liao.

it may lack certain equipments as compared to a 2L Forte but normally people buy Magentis for its size.

Like what Bro White Cruiser said, mine's a Metal Bronze. To be frank, before I got the Mag, when I saw a Tit Silver Forte, I thought it was a Metal Bronze too.

Does the Forte come with external antenna? Didn't notice that though. Good lah at least, I dun like things sticking out one.

The definite improvements I feel will be the spaciousness and better sound insulation.

Things still getting used to will be the longer dimensions and reverse placement of the headlight/signals switch and wipers switch. This morning I was blocked by a car in front of me because we were all blocked by a cab who was letting his passengers alight. Since last night was raining, so I wanted to clear the windscreen. I ended up highbeaming the taxi! So pai seh... Still gotta go slow around places coz I'm very afraid of scraping my car on other objects.

However, one thing I like about the Impreza was the HOLD button. Being on slope was the best time to use it. I can just switch on the button and then I don't have to step on the brake.

Still haven't been able to tell much difference between AWD and FWD. Perhaps after I run in the engine I will be able to do so.

There is one time where I saw a Wish owner he open his door so hard and his door just Bang onto other people's car and he like nobody business and went into the car. I really feel sorry to that car owner and feel like shouting across to that *******!

if i have magentis, the first thing i will do on this is to replace the stock 2DIN HU to a 7" touch screen DVD player.

Haiz. Driving car is like that. Boh bian one. My Impreza had it's first 2 dents within weeks. Hope My Magentis can survive longer. But with my carpark full of irresponsible drivers, I'm sure my ride will get one soon...

auto wind up but if detects thing will stop automatically.. safety feature...best for rear seats too

My Steering wheel.


Only control on the right of my steering wheel. There would have been lots of controls there, but because Singapore brought in a lousier version, so most of the options were gone.


My trip meter and my BT headset control on the left of my steering wheel.


Hazard light and clock. When I went for my servicing, I checked out the Magentis on display. They actually removed this portion and replaced it with a GPS!!!

I wonder why are the pictures partially cut off on the other end.

Under bright sunlight, so some of the pictures cannot see that well.

The pictures are so clear that all the dust can be seen. Better do more interior cleaning...

USB port area. Normally I will place lots of things there too.

Great place to place my drinks. But hor, scared e-brake then drink fly and car get wet inside. Sianz...

Window control, side mirrors control folding window control.



Folding side mirrors. Realise that the side mirror will be very dripping with water after rain if folded in. Very hard to see if never wipe off before driving off.


Rear mirror with BT speaker above.

bro.. your reverse cam monitor is a sunvisor monitor?? can you take a pic with the whole thing abit further to see how it looks like..

Don't really understand your question. Dunno what is sunvisor monitor. But I will take a picture tomoro and post it here.

I changed my system's resolution then I managed to see.

And I thought what happened.

btw, is the reverse camera comes with your Mag ? Or you get it installed seperately (how much) ?

It came with the ride.

Very good. Now can park very close to the cars behind me without leaving a HUGE gap between us.
