Problems/Enquiries/Concerns encounter for FORTE

Hi bros, as there's a lot more out there waiting to collect their FORTE... So I guess it will be best to start a thread consolidating the problems that had encounter for FORTE... making it more visable to those bros out there what to expect when collecting their new FORTE. Here the list.... (I basically also tagged from other forum as a starter dish with myself adding a few more in)

1) Seat beat warning light only at startup for few secs or should it be constantly on to remind users till he belt up?
There is 2 types of selt belt warning light as indicated on page 3/14 of your guide book and itz norm that it will go off after 6 sec.

2) Reverse sensor exposing..
(Perhaps applicable to EX model)
No... Mine is a EX model local fitted but Reverse sensor is covered... Only difference is SX has 4 reverse sensor and EX has 2.

3) Possibility of automatic window "1-touch-up" function.
I've tried a "1-touch-up" and the window automatically moves down. But will need to "touch-up" a little higher.

4) Exhaust tip rattling during idle.

5) Will door re-lock after being unlocked while driving? The ability of
front passengers seat to override the auto lock function? It was mention by one that the door will re-lock back again during driving but still to be confirm whether the front passenger/driver seat will override the auto lock function or not.

6) Handbrake not firm/"biting"

7) Absence of Shift-Lock function. Currently don't need to step on brake to engage Drive/Reverse from Park position.

8 ) The use of 2 stickers at the bottom left rear corner of back passenger door?

9) Turning alarm off manually if activated inadvertently. (Meaning to switch off the alarm by oneself should the remote not working)
This is abit tricky, hope my explaination is clear enough. When your alarm needs to be overitten, First you have to start your car engine. Sitting on the driver sit, Bend down and touch e side wall of your car where it is near to your acceration padel. You should find a black button there. press it continuously for a few times and the alarm will stop

10) Stiff suspension.

11) Can the sensitivity of the Auto headlights be adjusted?

12) Hot/Warm Air-con blow out even though the dial had been adjust to much cooler.
Please ensure that your air-con is switch to "recirculate air Position" mode and not the "outside air position" where singapore air is always hot. I notice mind sometime will automatically switch to "outside air position" mode whenever i started the car with me noticing it.

13) Cracking noise of steering wheel when turning?
Do send it for servicing if there's any cracking noise when turning ur steering wheel. Not sure if it's commonly known as mis-alignment..

14)Will window will retract when it detects an obstruction?
Someone has tested there is no such function.. (PPLs, if you guys wanna test it... Please do not try with your fingers)
Dandeana --> It is confirmed that this function doesn't come wif 1.6SX model.. juz confirmed wif my SE.. he wasn't aware tt it was provided..

15) steptronic function shooting up to 3000rpm without stepping on the accelerator

16) Missing "FORTE"
Apparently, the current batch comes with both the Cerato and Forte wordings. Those who had collected earlier might not have it. Please request from C&C when you went back for servicing.

17) For those who owns a iphone, do take note that it does work with your car ipod connection. I have tested it and confirm

18 ) No alarm/buzzer (when ignite off the car engines) if the headlights still on.

19) Light will not turn off (AUTO MODE SET OFF) when you had off the engine.
Had confirm the headlights will turn off (auto mode set on) when engine is off.

17) auto transmission doesnt have safety feature of 'pressing brake first before able to change from P to D'

Hi All, Forgot to let you guys know... Although now all our cars comes with the Forte word, I think a few of us have the word paste slanted... Mine too... I told my SE about it and she say there is nothing they can do... Very Sad...

Just collected, so far no problems encountered, but it was only a short drive from Ubi to home in Simei.....

Let me take leave tomorrow and go for a closer inspection and longer drive...

You can try take out and re-paste your own ba.. If you want straight and parallel, use a ruler... haha..

Actually i'm quite concern over frequent usage of steptronic, anyone has a good guideline for using steptronic and kia's history of steptronic problems?

How's the response and handling so far for those Forte drivers?

So far so good, response is good except the suspension abit stiff when going through hump.

i think most of us encounter the same suspension stiff problem.

The 17inch rim contributes also. But stiff also good, it will get softer over time

yup!! me oso encounter dat esp having to go over a very steep hump on the first few days.. wah.. painful siah.. but now at least the suspension is softer liao..

After seasoning yr bao bei, it will be smooth driving after tat..

I think the main cause of the your feedback problem is due to not enough FORTES/COE in our hands to give any feedback

You won't get so much feedback is because lots of them hvnt got their car yet. Unless you also means paper work etc...

Does that mean that there is very little problems encountered with the new car. SO far I have no problems, ...... just one complain though, the pax seat rattles when it is empty if I go over rough roads at certain speed ..... need to tighten somewhere...

Hi... Wanna check with you guys Driving EX(A) everytime I step on the break pedal it gifs a cracking sound is it normal?

is it the Abs kicks in? Did u jam brake? Was the sound continous or clicking?
