When turning steering wheel, got slight creaking sound

Hi,

Anyone experience this?

After 2 weeks of drive, my steering wheel starts to have creaking sound when i turn one full round towards the right.

Left also got, but softer.......


Sigh.....so many problems......

Bro, problem definitely have one la....it only big or small.
For your case, i think some bro here ever mention too....
Just go to C&C and get a replacement.

this is one of the common problems with our Forte that has not been resolved yet....

anyway juz report the problem to CnC during yr servicing....hope they find a way to rectify it soon.....

Yes, I have been to LK many times on the steering issues, whatever solutions they offered isn't much help as the sound will be back after awhile....nothing to do with the clock spring but it's due to the Airbag module.

i just found out mine had this prob too. =\

I also had this problem. Went to LK yesterday for servicing and told them this problem. Now came back and I think the steering is a bit tighter. So far no sound.

Not sure whether it is due to the steering wheel being loose. Also complained that my handbrake was loose.

Got the same problem. Disappeared after 1st servicing for a week or two and it's back.

My case the sound came out after complaining steering go toward left.
Don't know what they do, now steering very tight & clicking sound when turning.

they will try to add some tape foam or add grease...but all r temp. solutions, after couple of weeks, the sound will be back...

agree.....after I've reported it during my 5K servicing, the noise seem to go away for a few days but then it came back again.......

Yap, it seems that they do not have a solution for this creaking sound. Whatever they have done to eradicated seems only tempiorary.........

I solved the sound problem by inserting a 2mm thick foam measuring 30mm x 10mm in between the steering wheel centre hub and the air bag module at 12 o'clock position as mentioned earlier, sound is gone forever....

i kena this problem for the first time yesterday, sianz...

hehe.. its not a big problem... just that they can't resolve it, then become big issue... haha

Hi Bro Nothing, can share with us with pictures where you inserted the foam so we can all rid our cars from this irritating sound.

Hmm I rather C&C solve the problem rather than us doing something to suppress the problem..

Hi Bro Nothing, can share with us with pictures where you inserted the foam so we can all rid our cars from this irritating sound.

sure, will do when I m free bcos I can't carry a camera phone, need to bring down my digital camera...just do a experiment yourself...get a name card tear a portion of it and fold it into 2 fold (or more) abt a thumb size pcs...now slot in between the airbag module(centre pcs with the kia logo) gap and the steering wheel hub at abt 12o'clock position, try it and see any more sound occurs....if in stock condition without slotting in any foam or paper, try shifting the airbag module up and down and if can hear squeaking sound, my method will works...

please make sure u dun block the Airbag cover flip...(touch wood) so the Airbag can function properly

i guess that is very important and for future reference incase some other bros start having sound tooo.....

no it won't as the airbag module deployment will override this small pcs of foam or paper.....

i'm having the same prob, sent to eunos ss, they did some lubrication, no sound only for 1 day.

sound comes back the nxt day...

as mentioned, whatever solutions that they can think of now is only temp. solution....

I had this problem from th very beginning and reported to them during one 1K servicing. They can't resolve it after much time. But had so far been driving with it, and has not caused me any probs apart from the sound.

I'm at my 8,800km already now and without the creaking sound seemed to have gone away without me noticing.... not sure whether its gone for good.

mine too, sound came back, but not so loud that all..

Mine also have sound when turning. Service liao also come back after a while.
First the windscreen cracked, now got sound.
Seems like low price car gets you low quality car too.

Me too. After ~ 3months, the sounds came out a few weeks ago. Now I know what you guys were talking about...

Hi Everyone with this steering sound, so far any solution provided by the CnC servicing?

I get them repair 3 times n it jus come back again after a few days of service...until i no energy to go back let them service again.

I service for u, once and for all...simple and effective solution.....
