Hit & Run which result a Dent + Scratches on my passenger door !

Man .. u can say i'm damn unlucky !
Parked my cark along Princep Street just to had a supper @ Rochor Beancurd .
Park for like 30 min and when return , my passenger seat is f* up by a hit and run vehicle ..

Decided to get a video camera to fit into my car to prevent such mishap from happening .
You guys got any recommendation . So far have contacted ZMC for their motion camera . Any other camera which u guys have actually come across that has motion sensor to at least cover 360 Degree ?

Lastly .. any other workshop you guys can recommend to me to fix up the passenger seat ? Super heart pain .. but still comforting myself that luckily it didn't kena my driver door . Just mild scratches that can be run away with wax ..

Alamak. My heart goes out to you. I know that area, the traffic quite hazardous. Plus might be some kuku trying to do a parallel parking and did that.

One thing though hope you do not mind sharing, did you install alarm? And if so did the alarm sound off?

Actually, if you want can report but no claims put it as someone hit and run. If you intend to get some kind souls as witness, then reporting would be good also.

Got a friend's relative kenna counter claim though the other party at fault and they decided to go private settlement initially. But i believe most people would not report this.

Let's just say, if i hit my car into a tree and smash my bonnet, and i want to claim insurance because the cost might be very high. We will report to do the claims. If i feel i am not going to claim the insurance and the tree or the owner will not sue me then, i dun report the incident and do my repairs outside there will be no penalty.

But 3 months later, the tree decided to claim against me, and i did not report. Even if the tree did not managed to claim successfully, i will be penalised for not reporting the accident.

It is difficult to say need or not need to report like my friend's relative tt one is kenna played out by the motorcyclist who was at fault. He skidded and hit into my friend's relative car which was stationary. But now counter claim say the car hit him so he skidded, though at tt time the motorcyclist admited fault verbally..... So last time private settlement also no write down properly now his claim is still pending... See can find witness or not.

Try to put a note at that area. Might just find the culprit. I read somewhere that some cases, they actually managed to catch those buggers through tip offs.

feel bad for u either.. new car are always prone to such incident.. but afterall u will have a safe nice journey ahead =)

What a dishonorable retard. But it might have been better that you
didn't catch the person in the act. Given what I've seen on the roads in
Singapore, if you caught and stopped him/her, he/she would probably
come out of the car and ask you 'why you park like that? make me
hit your car, its all YOUR fault.

but C&C will recommend that the door be replaced, if first year insurance, just claim own damages of course if repair cost is way above deductible(excess), what is 10% NCD next year.....

Bro, don't waste time... as far as our Police Farce is concerned, so long as nobody died, nobody got seriously injured, no government property got damaged or stolen and/or no 'big-shot' got involved, your case will get 'prioritised accordingly'. I hear this 'priority queue', for cases where the earlier conditions are met, starts from the back of a drawer in a filing cabinet located in an office where the natural light never reaches. If in the rare occasion, or fluke, where an Investigation Officer is indeed assigned to look into your report, he may(read: would rather), dismiss the case at his discretion if the case/evidence against the perpetrator is not conclusive(at the convenience of the donut(or asian equivalent) munching and kopi-o chugging mah-tah's opinion).

Trust me... And don't hold your breath while waiting for your case to be heard. And I haven't even told you about having to make a magistrate's complaint first before your case gets assigned at the Police Cafeteria, no... I meant, the Police Station.

The law works best and fastest only when you are on the receiving end of a fine.

Get a quota from few workshops and compare pricing or go JB do lor.
The damage is not so serious so i think no need to change the whole door. Knock it back and re-paint will do. Some workshops or c&c of course said need to change whole door becos is much more easy, less work done and can charge more.

Can see the side door crash bar is doing it's job to stop the dent into the passenger compartment!

The problem with such dents is.... it is too near the line.... to knock it out, you must have a very skillful panel beater, someone else may not be able to to do the job nicely because of the crease.... best is to change a new door, since it is a new car.... if insurance pays, just change it....

I got a scratch on my back bumper... i was lucky coz mine's a 2 way alarm and my remote alarm went off. They ang moh say he will pay for it. Gave me his namecard and ask me to contact his wife (he's a MD of a MNC). Sigh... need to find time to send for repaint of the bumper

yes. 10% NCD done if insurance found out later. So go make police report and inform your insurance for record. Maybe some kind pepole was there and report to police

I was quite near to the car... a min away? The ang moh was also nice.. he didn't try to run away but stay put to wait for me... dunno it's lucky or what.....

some ang moh are honest.... I had one accident years back in Australia, driving on second lane, first lane was jammed up, a taxi turn into the lane from the opposite direction when there was a gap, I did not not in time....

The taxi driver admitted in front of the police that it was his fault because he turn without making sure that it was clear on the second lane....

That road was on way to school, from that day onwards, my lecturers named me Ayrton Senner.....

happen to get $310 to change the whole door . spray paint must settle at a diff price .
if can get same door then wouldn't be knocking the metal back to it's original shape .

sorry to confuse u guys .. 310 is just for the skeleton of the door . workshop said tat after respraying the color and transferring the window to the new door it'll end up wif 610 ..
i think it's a good price . gotta fix it next week liao ..

hi leonard, i also suffer the same fate as urs... but i kena an area where is the most problematic (the lower undercarriage portion there)... There can't be removed unlike door and is the hardest of all ard the car..

but managed to get a decent panel beating (S$80) + respraying the whole door panel and 3/4 of the rear fender (S$170)..
