My car passenger window got break in..

Yesterday night was having dinner with my family at a restaurant... Park my car in the one of open space area parking lot (not near the restaurant but not also not far)... After finish our dining, proceed to get my car and realise my car had been ransacked all over... The thief must be damn good... Didn't even get to hear window smashing sound at all...

So I compile what i had loss...

1) Passenger window broken
2) Digital camera (just bought for 3 months only)
3) 2 Figurine doll from korea (bought by my sister as a gift, like that also wanna steal... sigh..wonder how come don't want steal along my 3 kia bears etc..)
4) GPS holder (but gps still around in my car, perhaps the thief miss out that one badly)
5) 1 LED torch light. (SGD$20 dollar led torch light also steal!!!)

Damages
1) Some minor scratches to the leather seat (still acceptable to me)
2) the interior door got quite a few scratch marks due to glass debris (not nice anymore but what to do, can't repair)

Now i in pandan garden using their computer typing all this while waiting for them to replace a new one... My wallet really jialat.. I bet the thief really CMI.. those cheapo stuffs also want steal.. Tmd..

Hahaha... The place was not at Singapore but in Boleh land.. Went over to pump fuel and also went to had dinner with my parent, bros and sis.... The place quite near to Taman sentosa.. There is one famous noodle shop, Ah Kun fishball and the 1st branch restaurant peking there... But i was having dinner somewhere near that place...

To me, i just take it lightly... It the 3rd time i experience such incidents... The 1st time ended my passport gone.. That why I learn my lesson nv put bags lying around the seat which will cause them to break in... Basically my car is very bare empty and yet they still break in. Must be despo enough.. Anyway the thief have earn himself a digital camera and the two dolls.. But i really wonder why he also take my GPS holder for what!!!! Perhaps my car too shiny liao after a car wash by myself.. Beside got few BMW, Mercedes... All ok except mine... haha

wow bro, sorry to hear that man, that place famous for thievery. Anyway yesterday tank left 1/4 also wanted to go in pump petrol at 2pm but i was alone. SO abit worried.

Hope u can claim insurance for what ever damage. No life lose is a bonus for 1 case of theft.

Make the report and today now dropped in pandan garden to service everything..

Ya, I making a claim for that window... that particular window replacement cost ard 300 plus plus... I say WOW... then solar film i need to do out of my pocket lo...

Its not cmi, its jus that they dun wan to do anything. We are not their people anyway, they might even be thinking serve us right. perhaps again, their people steal from us, maybe can increase GDP?

I always practise not to leave things lying in car, no matter which country.

I think most likely its ur digital camera that attracted the theives la.

Oh just a reminder, for those who connect their ipod, remember to take out from car, I sometimes forget too..

Not yet install my car alarm.. that's why go in jb everytime scare scare... Even in Sg, these kind of things will also happen... Just that in JB is more frequent than Sg..

my digital camera was well hidden in the dashboard locker... they just break in for the sake only.. really there isn't anything on the car seats except 1 tissue box..

their government still dont want to do anything about it. Dont they know their MAIN tourist is S'porean?

In future, anything happen to your car in JB... just proceed to the old custom checkpoint sentral police headquarters (got 1 shell station there) to make report immediately.. You will need that to make a claim on your insurance... Give your insurance company a call (if got 24hrs) and see what else need to be do... .. Going into Singapore to make a report is an optional (This is told to me by insurance)..

But on the other hand, even u saw the thief.. you also would feel scared whether to confront him or not.. later that person got gun or knife how.. So sometimes it's would be wise to just keep ur mind cool instead of losing life over it..

yes, window is gone but alarm will be sounding like mad.. maybe when u approached yr car.. he might had ran away after the alarm rang?? wat happens if he is jacking yr car away.. will u stop him or let him do the deed?

Sikari they came with injection needle thaat filled with blood from HIV carrier.....

well the alarm is not for you to stop that person at the point of time of break in....

It more of let the thief think twice before they make the act.. cause he can see the car got alarm and he will got a chance that he will be alarming everyone around him when he break in....

But if your car totally no alarm.. he more then happy to go ahead and break in without thinking..

well the other side of JB by link 2 is safer... I always go that side area for shopping and so far never encounter any problem.

i tink go boleh land.. must carry a swiss multi purpose penknife set or something to protect oneself..

better still if the alarm can start the car, move by itself like a remote control car.. then u can control it and drive like a mad ass.. and arrest the thief like tofu jelly.. hehehe

if they lock set on your ride, any alarm also no use....only way is to park at place where u can see yr ride...if not, depends on heng suay....used to pumped petrol at bolehland when I just started driving but after many near-miss, I rather pump in Sillypore...beside break-in on cars, be careful when u go pumping petrol, scan the areas first, look out for those guys standing, squatting near the toilet with bikes nearby....if go with gals, must lock all door when driver go and pay and don't wind down windows.if yr gal really need the toilet, pls stand guard outside the door..I ever kana at bolehland shell station at about 2 am, after paying proceed to toilet, already noticed 2 boleh guys nearby, they look stoned...so I ignored and just proceed in but sensed something may happen, so went into a cubicle instead and locked the door...just while I was urinating, there was loud and furious banging on my door..straight away I knew lai leow, once I unlocked, straight away a hand appeared trying to grab my pouch and another hand trying to swing a helmet at me, I hold tight on that hand and threw punches on that boleh guy, he fell back and I followed thru on the ground (I was way much bigger for him) , luckily the commotion attracted someone and one pacik came in and shouted something in Malay and then asked me to stop as the boleh guy seem KO and was bleeding badly...I explained in half past six malay and told him what happened, the pacik told me that I was lucky bcos while I was busy with the guy on the ground, another guy at another corner actually was seen pulling out a dagger and he shouted at him before he dashed out....Holy shit! In the state of adrenalin, I didn't realised actually there was another person standing by..when I heard that, a chill came over me, meaning I may be stabbed to death in a toilet if not for that pacik that rushed in...

Ok for all of your full blooded singaporeans. This is some advise from a not so full blooded malaysian. I stayed in JB for a few years as a kid before moving to spore with my parents and sis. Did most of my primary and secondary school in spore. I also studied and lived and worked in KL for a few years.

For me, I never liked JB. In fact, I find KL a lot safer than JB, although crimes are still rampant. If you ask me, I will rather drive all the way to KL than stay in JB for a short getaway.

Firstly, dun act like a typical sporean. Be more cautious of your actions. Dress down, dun act all high and mighty, dun flash your money and whatever belongings. Dress in your lousiest clothing. No branded stuff please. No branded bags or acc. Not even branded clothing. The more slack or casual you look, the better. :-)

I am not saying all sporeans are flashy. Its just generally the clothing, the behaviour, the things we do here in spore, might be what only the well to do or rich ppl in msia do. So by doing all that, you stand out. And once you stand out, you become a big big target for them. I know a sporean guy who worked in KL for more than a year. He made sure he blended in well with the locals and looked exactly like them in everyway. Nothing ever happened to him while he was there. So try blending in as much as possible. Dun stand out!! This applies to whatever country you are visiting. Me and some friends went to a few 'well-knowned' cities in Europe, famous for their snatch thieves, but cos 3 of us were students and looked like we needed money more than the snatch thieves do, we were safe from anything!! In fact, I never felt so safe!! Hahaha!! :-)

2ndly, please, and I stress, please, dun stay out so late in a foreign country unless you are with locals. The timing of like 2am is like outrages in a city like JB!! Fewer ppl around, quieter, darker, all means easier for the thievers and robbers and burglars. And believe me when I say very few bystanders will help you knowing the risks involved if they do. At least in the day time, with more ppl around, your chances of someone helping you out will be higher.

3rdly, always be cautious of your belongings and where you put it and how you hold it. Even locals, like friends of mine in kl, the girls always know how to carry their bags in a way that will attract less attention from these ppl. Also, never leave your mobiles and wallets/purses on the table like most of us do here in spore. Even the locals there dun do it. Always also be cautious of your surroundings. If you notice you are moving to somewhere more isolated, you have to up your alertness or move back to somewhere more crowded. :-)

4thly, and this is the best piece of advise, try to get a local to bring you around. Someone who knows all these things and knows how to watch out for you. And also know how to talk the local lingo.

Lastly, if you wanna take the risk of driving in or even just going into our neighbouring country, you have to accept that there is a risk involved. And as someone said, as long as you are unhurt and you can get safely back to spore, you should be happy and thank god. :-)

Just a little advise from someone who grew up on both sides of the causeway. And have family, friends and contacts on both sides!! :-)
