Re: Cheap Sound Proofing
Dun mind me cutting in...
How many layers are here?
IMHO, if it's only 1... dun think it's worth it.
1. I think there was a GB or MO for Sound Clad for about 300+ for 2 layers.
2. That one showed that the whole door was insulated, yours looks 80% covered.
3. IMHO, the workmanship looks kinds sloppy.
As for the link to that thread... sorry, I think someone removed it...

Re: Cheap Sound Proofing
How much heavier would the car weigh?? For all 4 doors?? Floor?? Front and back?? Hahaha!! Actually I dun really know much but is it for the whole car?? :-)
Will the engine sound be still heard from inside the car. Thats the most 'irritating' to me. Hehe!! :-)
Think bro Shendoh and his lovely wife, our Race Queen, did soundproofing for theirs already. Cant remember how much they did theirs for. :-)

Re: Cheap Sound Proofing
u cant really eliminate the engine sound....
from what i heard when i was asking vendors ofr this, no one does full sound proofing of the firewall (external and interior) anymore... only partial.....as it affects the "electronics"

bro, after the sound proofing done, is the effect good? been driving my ride for 2 days liao, think it really needs some sound proofing. the handling is good, juz need to improve on the sound insulation though. one more observation made. got a couple of time when i stop at traffice light, i noticed a couple of drivers will look at our forte. maybe too chio liao that they cant resist to look at it.

Re: Cheap Sound Proofing
for EX owner, you may want to consider installing the bonnet sound insulating mat (same as those fitted on the SX).....it worked for me coz I can feel that the engine noise sounded softer (lower pitch)....
