Auto Headlight On
Hi All Bros/Sis,
Have any of you applied auto mode Headlight when raining and during night ride? or just on the low beam light? I was quite confuse and annoyed for the past 2 days for encountering a Taximan and another car driver to showed me sign to ask me to either switch my Headlight to lower beam or off it . Wonder is our Forte headlight so annoying or light beam so powerful? hope some bros/Sis can comments. Thanks

You must have switched on ur highbeam
Given I were in their case, I would have on mine + foglamp (on my bike) and tail u all the way until u beh tahan.... ^_^
You check see if ur blue color light is on ya dashboard ... If it is, then you must turn it off.....

Re: Auto Headlight On
On this subject of high beam....
High beam should not be auto.......
In Singapore, if anyone think driving, with the high beam on, is safety for own selfish self, you are inconsiderate of other road users.
High beam irritate drivers on either side of the roads as they blind them.........
On foreign highways where there are no lamp posts in between towns, drivers will on high beams to light the way, but once there is a car coming from the opposite side, they will automatically change it to the normal dipping lights. This is safety issue and also road courtesy.
In Singapore, most of the time, you are not alone on the road and there are many other cars on either side of the roads. So high beam is not a must.

Re: Auto Headlight On
Yeah, I recall a few occasions already, suddenly a car with high-beam nears me from behind, my reflex reaction is to take my hands off the steering wheel and cover my eyes... feel annoyed because it is dangerous.
But like what some bros mention, the auto headlight automates up until low beam, high beam you have to push the stick down to get it.

Sad to say, but I already encountered some friends and relatives who always on their high beam without knowing it. When I tell them about it, their reactions were:
- "Huh? Got such thing ah? I didn't know leh. When I bought the car, nobody tell me leh."
- "Huh? Cannot one ah?"
- "Huh? Yeah meh? I didn't touch anything leh. I just drive only."
- "Huh? If turn off, then I cannot drive at night liao. It's too dark to drive. How?"

Look at your manual. Page 1-5. Left column. 4th symbol from the top.
Look at your instrument panel / dashboard.
Do you have that symbol light up on your instrument panel?
If it is, look at your manual, page 4-62 on how to turn it off or on.

Re: Auto Headlight On
Err... I really dunno how to explain to you techically..
Auto light = won't on high beam one, unless you had activate it and forgetten to switch off.
So check your clustermeter had the high beam icon or not as shown at the top post.
-If got Display, just push the lighting lever inwards to activate or disactivate.
(best still, check out your manual.. got pictures illustration one)
-if bo display, then ur auto light on should be normal one.

Correction... Anyhow play and kena pluck drivers. If they didn't know, such ignorance does not stand-up in court if they cause an accident(worse, one causing fatalities) with their don't give a flying pharq/couldn't care less attitude. It is the responsibility of all drivers to be proficient in the operation of their vehicles at all times.

It's good that you come over and ask the question in this forum.
Some others who intentionally or unintentionally turn on the high beam whenever the sky turns dark don't even bother...

Re: Auto Headlight On
Anyway, is there a way to adjust how dark before the auto lights come on??

no such worries anymore in our forte... any high beam behind are filtered off with our rear view mirror

I think the problem with the auto headlight becomes so sensitive is because of the Solar film. Cause the light sensor is located in front of the dashboard. So the the sensor alawys see a shaded sky instead of full sunlight. That's why some continental car put the light and rain sensor behind the center Mirror with an independant console directly below the windscreen.
One way I can think of is to remove portion of solar film above the sensor. Another way is to use some solvent to reduce the black color coating on the sensor. So the sensor receive more light during daytime.

Re: Auto Headlight On
Hmm... that makes sense.
In the morning, if the auto mode is on, my ride's headlight will auto on then off every 3 minutes. That's why most of the time I will just switch the auto mode off.

Yeah, a clever design by KIA. So no worries of leaving anything on except the bluetooth will still be on for a while after off engine.

Re: Auto Headlight On
my preference is not to use the auto headlights. Battery drains faster when one starts car with headlights on.
