Re: Which is the best GPS handphone to use?
I am using the iphone which has google built-in already, but 3G(s) is the one with compass so it can point u in right direction.
however there is another alternative in the form of Asus-garmin phone. saw in starhub and runs on windows mobile. given the fact that it is from Garmin, the maps and technology for GPS should be very reliable.

I think you may like to explore this GPS handphone:

I've been using G60 with no problem. Screen size a bit small though.

Re: Which is the best GPS handphone to use?
Personally? My NOKIA E71. Yes, the screen is minuscule but voice guided navigation when paired with the BT in the car works almost perfectly for me...
Actual display size is 320x240 or approximately 2/3 of the screen capture you see below. A pity GMXT does not support text-to-speech(speaking street names).
And I can disable AGPS if I do not want to use the internet to augment the buffering/downloading of the satellite ephemeris data directly from the satellites for faster lock-on.

Re: Which is the best GPS handphone to use?
Is thr one whr we can use gps FOC?? use satellite foc right?? any brand??

Re: Which is the best GPS handphone to use?
Any brand will do, as long as there are options where you can DISABLE AGPS.
Otherwise, you can also choose to use the phone in aircraft or offline mode when you are using the GPS functions/software.

I'm using Samsung Omnia 2 with NAVFone software. The GPS receiver can also be used with in built Google Maps. It's quite good.

HTC HD, as the screen is big enuff to view the maps just buy the Garmin s/w and load the maps and u r really to go....
Signal wise not too bad about less than 15 sec you can get a lock on to satellite

U should then consider HTC HD2, where the screen is slightly bigger...

Re: Which is the best GPS handphone to use?
Well since you asked about HP i'll say go for the iphone, because its more than just the GPS alone.
But the concerns regarding malaysia are true too, you may end up paying a lot for connection.

Re: Which is the best GPS handphone to use?
iPhone comes with Google map which required you to log on to 3G network for instantly map/location update. Not really worth it and practical, somemore no "turn-to-turn" feature
However, thanks to the brilliant iPhone AppStore,
there're 2 powerful GPS App (with voice) which you can install by paying,
OR get it free by jailbreak your iPhone.
Try:
1. Sygic SG
2. TomTom Malaysia & Singapore
These 2 Apps has been tested by all me and all my colleagues and the result are superb!!!

Just an add-on,
these 2 Apps using their own build-in map data (Not Google map)
so no 3G network connection required!!

Re: Which is the best GPS handphone to use?
But they still need to be augmented by iPhone's A(ssisted)GPS considering iPhone's rather insensitive receiver front-end. Personally, I think iPhones are over-hyped. If I wanted computing power on the move, I'd get a netbook or a Viliv.
