hopefully they can improve on the after sales service as this is an expensive car that cost around 82k

After saw this thread posted by bro melburn this morning..buay tahan liao..afternn straight away went down to LK showroom bio bio the Sorento..surprisingly the showroom was quite crowded and there got mini refreshment buffet!
Is to celebrate the launching of Sorento! Saw the white one on display..super chio and it's really big! The seats are comfortable and interior is spacious! Really saw liao drooling...

thats y i say it is impossible. did u drive an AUDI b4? Higher price will come with better performance. If Sorento can match in all aspects of an AUDI, AUDI can close shop liao. Just that when u say Sorento can match an AUDI, my wife also giggles. Only In terms of price wise, Sorento wins. As for the rest of the specs, maybe u should go to their showroom and test drive it, then u will find that the driving exp will be a big difference as compared to a Sorento.

In terms of size, I dont know cos nvr see Sorento b4.
In terms of appearance, I think it is very subjective.
In terms of driving comfort and engine performance, Sorento confirm no fight.

it doesn't mean the more expensive audi will be better than the cheaper kia. sometimes, the brand itself costs far more than the actual value of the car. you can have a lousy audi model but with the brand, it costs more than a good kia or hyundai model. driving experience is also a subjective matter. it doesn't mean audi being the expensive ride and has adaptive/magnetic suspension system = better driving experience than the sorento. for the executives, they want soft suspension setup seen on benz and camry for examples, and would deter the audi and beemer's hard suspension setup. to these people, sorento offers a more comfortable driving experience. it depends on which type of driver you are, and is subjective. so don't be quick to say audi is better with driving experience, unless you are a hard-charging person that takes corners fast and drive like an ah beng.

since you never see sorento before... let alone of test-driving it, then i think it is not right say audi is better. maybe you want to check out yesterday's today newspapers for the journalist's feedback.

btw, i am comparing size, looks, engine performance, though as omg2doors mentioned, sorento loses in terms of engine power (unless a TC is added, like the Q5). when did this driving experience mattered?

end of the day, even if kia can come out with models better than audi, beemer, benz, there are people will say it is a stupid decision to challenge these marques because it is a 'kia' aka cheapo brand. stereotype at work again.

and because of these stereotypes and prejudices - audi will never close it shop.

In terms of size..Sorento is 4685 x 1885 x 1755, whereas Q5 is 4629 x 1653 x 1880..
Sorento is bigger than Chevrolet Captiva but slightly smaller than Volvo XC90..so u can imagine how big it is..

Was thinking to test drive the other day but like very paiseh leh..

i wanna ask evoforte - have you test driven an Audi Q5? if yes, then why forte? you can afford an Audi A4 if you can test drive a Q5. lol.

Saw the Sorento and have good impression. It is solidly built and is a big jump from the old Sorento and outlook is better than the Captiva. I think it is hard to compare it against the Q5 as the overall package appeals to a different consumer crowd, rather the Captiva and the new Tuscon are comparable benchmarks.

The interior is great too.

Yes i agree with ozzie75..in fact Sorento can be compared with Captiva, Hyundai Santa Fe and also Rav 4..maybe Fortuner as well? Not possible co compare with Q5, XC90 etc..
But overall..i think the closest competitor should be Chevrolet Captiva..

i used this logic when buying my $550 ferragamo wallet thinking that it'd last me 10 years without any maintenance
my previous pierre cardin lasted 3 years

after 1 year, i find that my ferragamo wallet is in worst condition as compared to my pierre cardin 1 year after usage
thus i conclue, higher price does not come with better performance

a pierre cardin can match a ferragamo.
