After a Heavy downpour... Do you
I see my neighbour using a cloth to wipe his car dry after a heavy downpour. He polishes and waxes his car regularly... So is this a good idea after a heavy rain? He dont bother to use water to wash the car, just wipe the car dry after a heavy rain.

I also wipe off after a heavy downpour, what is wrong with it? The heavens help me to water my car, wipe off is to prevent water marks.

Hmmm... I love driving in the rain... Really... Kind of therapeutic if I may say so...
Still, my understanding is the first 15-30 minutes of rainfall would be largely be contaminated with atmospheric industrial fall-out and pollutants. Pollutants already contained in the rain-clouds notwithstanding, of course.
Also, the initial 15-30 minutes of rainfall would usually render the roads much more slippery than later since the oils and other lube-related drippings would be caused by the water seeping into the grain of the roads to be floated onto the surface until they run-off.
Hmmm... Stuff I learnt from my late Dad.
