I think that passenger must have really cross the line.
Whoever that SQ steward is, he have my full support! I hope he won't be punish though.

Punching him was too lenient liao.... He endangered the lives of hundreds on board the flight.. Its seriously crazy.... The court shd've gave him 8 strokes of the cane. See if he dare to do it again.

I agree ..As an Aussie I feel embarrassed ...but 8 strokes of the rattan would certainly change his ways!!! That and leave a lasting impression

There's no need to be, it's a the act of an individual not the entire country.

When you are outside of your country.......you are the unspoken ambassador for your country. It might be an individual act.. but the impression it creates is not only of the individual but also reflect poorly on the country. And that is why other citizens felt the way they do.

let it be individual...... there will always be bad apples everywhere.....anywhere....

That air steward ought to be given a bloody medal! He knew that in order to get that unruly passenger bound and restrained, he had to take him out first. If only the courts had ordered a blood test to ascertain if he was really drunk or on a narcotic-induced high.

Only a person with a death-wish would want to open the aircraft door in mid-flight. I wonder if any air marshals swung into action...
