5 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty

Dear All,

Please take note, to enjoy the above-mentioned, was highlighted to me at C&C, that your periodical servicing to be maintained at C&C, failing which the warranty would be void. Was my 1st servicing, so I believe the rest should have noted this.

did you ask them what are the things covered under warranty? from what i know, only the engine...

actually the booklet got state what is not covered, the usual wear and tear. and to my knowledge, any modifications, other then stock, they have clauses to void the warranty too, just like accident claim. You get into one, if you changed to rims other then manufacturer's recommendation, they have the rights not to pay you too.

i think the part on the periodical servicing to be maintained at C&C is crap. You mean outside workshop will damage you car when servicing, if they are using original parts and follows standard servicing procedures i dun see where they should/could void the warranty.

Anyway, the known fact is C&C servicing charges are more expensive as compared to the workshops outside. So they sell the car at a lower price and collect the profits back in terms of higher servicing charges.

yeah thats what I thought also, when you hit above 20k, the servicing is $200+ as quoted, point is what I dislike bout sending in to service is, I don't get to see them do it, not sure what hanky panky was done to my car, and for that price I'm paying, its weird when they tell you car is ready like so many hours later.

but from the way they put it, if you do your servicing outside, they have the right to void your 5 years warranty. Anyone care to share?

I guess for the 5 years warranty. We are at their mercy.
Anyway i will check what are the major components that are covered and act accordingly.

From what i see, I may be sticking with them at least for a year. After that it all depends.

I rather C&C give me usual 3 yr warranty and I have 7 years more to mod and service my car peacefully at other workshops.

after all, C&C nt holding a gun to force u to service. If u wan u can straight away mod ur car and no warrenty given.

from wat i heard, ecu, CAI, exhuast, unichip , will void warranty...

my subaru, servicing for 20k at motorimage, a NA car, is already 300 plus.

and i told C&C was cheap, because my SE told me that servicing does not go pass 240 bucks unless change of parts.

oh well. hah. sounds cheaper to me.

it was in their promo when i bought the car in Nov09.
3yrs/100k - Free Maintenance (parts & labour)
5yrs/unlimited mileage warranty.

the catch....interest rate at 2.49% and cannot settle your loan within the 1st 2yrs.

did not calculate the difference (between 2.49% and 2.2%) but i think it should be ok since I see that the maintenance is above $200/- in CnC.

Assuming the car price you bought is 58 000.
Base on 58 k Loan... Here are the differences:

10 years loan.
58 000 x 1.249 / 120 = 603.684
58 000 x 1.22 / 120 = 589.67

difference is 603.684 - 589.67 = 14.01 per month
Difference for the whole loan term: 14.016 x 120 = 1681.92

7 years loan.
58 000 x 1.1743 / 84 = 810.827
58 000 x 1.154 / 84 = 796.810

Difference is 810.827 - 796.810 =14.016 per month
Difference for the whole loan term: 14.016 x 84 = 1177.36

That's how much extra you pay for free parts & labour servicing.

Mine is at 5yrs...looking at your calc, I paid 1k more...let's say it's 1.5k more. Divide it into 10 servicing, it'll be 150 per service... Worth it?

For your package maybe you want to ask your SE about it.
But i guess it should be parts & labour covered.

That is not possible for Singaporeans.

We have the youngest car population.

I go stamford for my previous honda...at less than 150 bucks per servicing....after 20K

cheap liao la. last time my renault kangoo 1 servicing at AD is at least $250 using mineral oil. Add synthetic is top up $60++ Every 10K service = close to $320-$350 WITHOUT additional parts, except air filter.

And all other AD is the same la. no service at AD= warranty void. Standard across the board already.

At the end of the day, i will still service at Kia. Wear and tear items is fine with me. I every month travel quite a high mileage. So the unlimited mileage warranty works great for me. I take it as insuring against gearbox, engine etc problems.

The booklet given is titled "3 Years/100,000km......"
Shouldn't C&C have given us a new booklet for 5 years?

There may be disputes when coming to claims or warranty........

when you sign the contract I think have stated 5 years though the booklet is still the old 3 years.

Hey guys, i think this warranty thingy applies the same as PC/laptop.
Manufacturers provide (example) 1 year warranty on a laptop.

If the owner added in 3rd party RAM (memory), and when they encounter hardware failure (within 1 year) and send back for repair, the service centre have the right (and probably will) to void the warranty for the entire machine.

Likewise, if you know how to remove the memory before sending into service centre, they might not be able to detect UNLESS there is a sticker which states 'Warranty Void if Torn' (due to opening the memory module compartment.

As far as I know, all major PC brands allow for own upgrading of RAMS.

I did it myself and had hardware issues during warranty...still they changed my motherboard. No questions asked.

Sapura at WP sometimes will blame you for changing to 3rd party rams on the Mac, when in fact there is no such thing as a Apple ram, sorry for OOT.

hmmm...my MACs have not gone to service before...so I dunno. But Apple can kpkb one.

in short they just want to earn your servicing $$.
Warranty or not is crap to hold on to you.

Can anyone let me know Which car AD do servicing cheap? They are all the same. In short, mod don't care about warranty. Want warranty don't mod.

Actually our concern is not the modding part. I am agreeable with them that if you mod, warranty is voidable.

The thing is why do we have to stick to servicing with C&C. And by not servicing with them, warranty is void. What kind of a crap reasoning is this? You mean workshops outside do not provide a better servicing than C&C. Or C&C servicing is so specialized that we have to stick with them?
