New mobile service packs comprehensive range of travel information from public to private transit, to 'live' traffic alerts and COE results on a single platform
From 16 March 2010, commuters and motorists will have even easier and more convenient access to land transport information to plan their journeys, with the launch of MyTransport.SG (mytransport.sg).
The new mobile service enables commuters, both public and private, to access a comprehensive range of transit and traffic information from a single platform anytime, anywhere from any wi-fi or GPRS-enabled mobile device.
Users can simply type and bookmark the url address on their mobile phone to access the site. The applications are free, data charges apply.
With MyTransport.SG, commuters can easily search between different key transit and traffic information, as multiple information are accessible on a single mobile site. This makes checking on road conditions, ERP locations/rates, parking in town, Park and Ride car parks, public/premium bus services, MRT/LRT stations, taxi call numbers and even the latest Certificate of Entitlement (COE) bidding results faster, as the travel application tools are located on one main site.
Location-based services are also available for the mobile phones with location-sensing capability. Commuters would be able to locate the nearest land transport points of interest such as bus-stops and MRT/LRT stations at a touch.
Whether checking for the next arrival time of a bus service, looking for parking in town, getting an update on the traffic condition, or checking on a COE bid, commuters and motorists can now check all of their travel options to make an informed decision on how to reach their destinations, from a single platform via MyTransport.SG.
The new service complements existing LTA and third-party travel information and planning tools to help commuters better manage their travel time, transfers, and make more informed transport decisions. These initiatives include OneMotoring.sg for private transport information and services, PublicTransport@SG for public transit information and collaboration with Google to provide public transit and traffic information available on Google Maps.
