with regards to handbrake tightening ,if you pulled more than 3 "clicks" or need a lot of effort when @ slope ,better get them to adjust.Make sure they aligh your seal in order (highlight my situation to them) & chk your car body before & after the service for any "surprises" Smile

I tried just now. I need to pull up to 6 clicks in order to secure the car. Does that mean it's not normal?

they'll l know how much to tighten ,don't hav to tell them the no of clicks. Tis goes to show that Kia S'pore didn't highlight to Korea & even the latest batch faces the same issue...maybe Korea have no slope & Hump.... Laughing

Just to take note, after awhile the handbrake cable will have some slack and need so called more clicks to pull up and it's normal...

The no of clicks also acts as an indicator for your brake pad wear,so get the correct "biting point" with the no of clicks which ur comfortable but never 6clicks which is too high for holding on slope..happy tightening...Cheers!

hmm.

i still got "tiak tiak" sound from front passenger side when going at high speed over uneven roads.

how ar?

if i go back service, will they count this as 2nd servicing?
then when i go for 5000km servicing, they will charge me for labour?

repair or complaint got nothing to do with 1st or 2nd servicing (oil change) . Jus drive to their fast lane with you last service receipt (jus in case) & claim your warranty. No service charge but have to sacrifice you time for them to troubleshoot.Gd luck!

Drive in from front or back also can...from front instead of turning left upon entering CnC, drive straight thru the guard post, just follow the sign basically twist and turn to Kia service bay....from back after guard post turn right and follow the sign.....very easy

Hmm, i reverse the car into parking lot, then press brake and pull hand brake, when release brake the car will roll a bit. Dont worry coz hand brake only secure 2 wheels... The car is still be secure by the hand brakes

Post by loveforte 31st October 2009, 5:05 pm

i had a idea to svc my car outside of C&C. likewise i email KIA singapore whether can i bring my own engine oil for svc. here is the reply:

Dear Mr
Lee

Thank you for
visiting our website.

As our principal,
Kia Motor Corporations (KMC) has recommended a prescribed service and
maintenance package for their range of cars, we do not recommend that customers
bring in their own lubricants. We cannot guarantee the warranty of a vehicle, if
the recommended use of parts and lubricants are not adhered
to.

For customers who
insist on bringing their own oils, a disposal fee of S$27.50, excluding GST is
payable. However, you will need to note that this could compromise future
warranty claims.

We hope that we have
addressed your concerns. Should you require further assistance, please do not
hesitate to call our Customer Relations Officers at 6471 9111 or email us at cs@cyclecarriage.com.sg

Thank you once again
and we wish you a pleasant weekend ahead!

Yours
sincerely

4 clicks is normal.

During my 1K servicing, they adjusted it from 6 clicks to 4 clicks on my ride.

For the point 1), it seems that not only FORTE is like that. My friends bought an AVANTE recently. He also had the same problem.

Just let them rectify it during your 1K servicing. Apparently it's not due to balancing or alignment problem. They just adjusted something on the steering wheel.

hmmm... how come yours is 6k? not 5k?

btw, for your first wiper, they will just change to a new wiper.

as for no.2. they will just tell ya to on the aircon temp lower. thus both side is cold.

dont on at 24deg. as it will trigger heater due to some **** eng design. i always on 22deg 1 fan. its good enough. freaking cold.
