Did u guys cut n paste this post... lol...
Yeah will of course respect engineering. The de-chrome is purely aesthetic. I will do most of the mods on the looks especially chrome. I hate chrome and would prefer the black look.

As what the British described, the "Murdered" look. Everything all black. Best if can get everything to matt black or satin black.
For the chrome trimmings, are you going to sticker wrap or spray paint it? Especially the front grille.

I will go full matte look but the full body wrap will wait on LTA response on that. Also, the handles will be wrapped in matte black first.

Don DIY spray paint the front grill, if choose to spray praint, i suggest using automobile paint, not those aersol kind that can be bought from hardware stores. prone to chipping when kana hit by grinds brought by the front vehicles.

I am interested to know too. Been wanting to get rid of the chrome trimming at the front grille.

its quite easy, if you remove your grill, you will find that the chrome could be removed in one piece.... its is attached to the grill with screws.. you can then use sticker to blacken it..

That sounds easy and reversible. Thanks!

Yup reversible is one of the factor that affects the value of any specific part on your car

Re: KURO ... de-chrome project
Drove my car to and fro work and home. Must really get used to the car and acceleration. Though I like the brakes so far. Looking at the interior, I must find a shop that does interior coz I want to BLACKed-out the top.
PS: Pics will be posted on Thursday. Im on night shift today.

Re: KURO ... de-chrome project
In terms of sticker masking on the chrome parts, i may drop by silent commonwealth mall during my off days to check it out. See the pricing and all that. Will probably try to call them regarding this service and how much.
KURO- Junior Member
Re: KURO ... de-chrome project
my opinion is that there are much better, more specialised sticker pasters out there..
Silent is not some place I will go to. Go read up reviews on them in other car forums and u will understand.
Check out JP works in the ads folder..He helped me dry carbon my bonnet and interior panels in my old car before.

Heard about SILENT reviews also. Thanks for the heads up. Will be heading down to AUTOBAC to get some car wash/maintenance plus some stuff I may or may not need.
Also, do JP works do things like matte black stickers?
KURO- Junior Member
Re: KURO ... de-chrome project
yes JP_works does matt black.. he's a personal friend of mine from old forum. Just recommending him cos his workmanship is good and detailed.
Think he got do full matt black for Lancer and Mitsu i before..price also definitely cheaper than Silent or other sticker shop since he's free lance.

Re: KURO ... de-chrome project
Actually I decided against full body wrapping. So i just arranged Jp Works with just the chrome parts to be matt-black-out. Jp Works also stated that LTA says the matt black full body is in the gray area and that TP have an issue with it but can't do much since its not deem legal or illegal. Anyways, I just don't like chrome but black is till fine.

When i took at CDC Ubi, not so KC lah. During my TP, the tester took me to just parallel park, slope and then went out ... outside less than 6mins, he close his tablet PC and say head back to CDC. All in all he gave me 8 points and asked if I have driven before, I said no ... only bicycles.
