12Jul Air-con unfinish/redo/new DIY(prefer east area)

hey guys, starting this new thread for those bros who miss out/unfinish air-con DIY.

materials with me:
1m rubber insulator(abt 5pcs)
one + 1/2 can of adhesive glue

if any bros from 5th MU still holding to the rubber adhesive tape & cable ties, pls bring along.
if not, we nd to purchase more.

pls bring own pliers for taking out one of the nuts, scissors, cutter
knives and one tiny plastic bottle to contain the adhesive glue.

master andi bro, wld be nice if u cld join us too...ur wisdom is always needed

from another thread, bro waypoint suggest a MSCP with a kopitiam downstairs at Serangoon North Ave 4.
i'm ok with that unless there's a better location shelter from the rain.

There is another MSCP with kopitiam at sengkang, its block 266 punggol road.

Please count me in if the date permits me to. in because 2 liter one need to measure own length as the length uncle andi had was for 1.6 liters one.

I had done mine today and have spare black plastic cables, some "sticky" rubber and 1 ft of insulator left. Can bring them down for your use.

I can confirm the aircon IS noticeably cooler

Actually I got those bight touch light where always use it to sweep tomb one... heehe

If time permitting, I will also turn-up to see-see-look-look... No intention to insulate my pipes. =)

hmm.. you guyz might want to take note.. it is good to do at that carpark.. but try doing it from deck G onwards.. cause this carpark very popular and neighbourhood nearby will complaint if their carpark are park with non-season car.

Ok just confirm my MSCP very bright... I check on the FL lighting it is almost every slot got 1 FL light.

May I suggest that for those meeting up that day to not turn on their air-con so that we can all start off with a dry pipe instead? Unless there is a need to confirm which pipe it is! =)

bro, i also prefer doing it during nite time(aft DIY, all of us can go for a drink....it wld be fun)
but then again, lighting when DIY is vy important, we know, cos last sun, sky cloudy but manageable.
since the MSCP is @ ur place, can u try open ur bonnet & look @ the air-con piping, just to confirm the FL light is not being block?
if pospose, take a few pic w/o flash wld be great.

If the lighting is good enough, then we can confirmed that the DIY session is at this place. Keigo pls provide the address and map. Should start fr 8pm to 8.30pm as I took 1.5 hr to complete it in broad day light. Perhaps we can go for drinks (alcoholic or non) after everyone completes the job

Chiewjy... best this place even suit you.. the MSCP level 1 got 2 washing point where you just need 20 cents and there is about 30L of water produce for you to wash you car...

Hi bro SpicyRed, from the stocks you have, its enough for one car mod only.

2 meters Amarex rubber Insulator = 2 cars mod, half can adhesive glue is enough for about 10 cars
and you need 1 box roll rubber adhesive tape. You can try buying another roll without the rubber
backing, thinner and high bonding strength for the final tightening of the rubber tape (as some bros complain peeling off bcos of the intense heat generate from the engine compartment) I find this tape quite useful, cost only $7.

I am not very sure I can attend your East group DIY, anyway I try to be there.

PS: I still prefer doing the DIY on the bright day.

Again regarding the use of cable ties, I advise to constrain the use of too many cable ties.
I only tie both ends of the rubber insulator. Using much too many will create a balloon effect in between and causes air leak effect and partially sealed. The cable ties which bro Tower have in hand is the ideal size and I think is enough for 10 cars mod.
