Hi wkc, sorry to hear about your cracked windscreen.
Do you remember what speed were you travelling at and were you turning at some sharp corner when the windscreen crack ?

Sorry to hear about it astroboy.
If it is not hit by external object, then its FOC.
Call CNC quickly to arrange for replacement.
Think it takes about half day to replace.
Also let them know what solar film you have (CNC or aftermarket).

Hope everything goes well with you.

Maybe we should arrange for all windscreen cracked owners to meet on Sat morning at CnC and demand an explanation from their management.

i think this is due..... even those whose screen havent cracked nust come since we really dont know the cause.....

i believe this must be made known to CnC that we cannot just accept replacement when it cracks. We have paid so much for our ride and such condition is obviously a manufacturers defect.
so what if the replacement is free for life. everytime it cracks, ppl will be heartbroken. moreover, time will be spent to go to Cnc for replacement, brain cells will be killed for worrying, bad for the heart too. inconveniences to all ppl affect and have to do w/o car for 1 day. driving with a cracked WS to CnC for replacement will cause safety issue. what if the Ws screen's crack become so bad that it drops after cracking? ... so many more issues can arise and opportunity costs...maybe they should consider a 1 for 1 replacement.

Actually this affects all not just those whose WS have cracked. It could be a dormant issue until it erupt. Some of the bros and sis's WS cracked after a few months.

yah..thats y i proposed they replace 1 car for 1 car. not WS... like toyota do a total recall...

replacing car w/o knowing the actual reason will not help....
it will just make cnc bankrupt.....then things might get worse for us....

I dun think it would make C&C bankrupt. The recall will affect KIA instead of C&C.

Toyota's total recall was due to the car mat. This act really quite generous and responsible, considering that they can simple just ask put up a notice to inform all the toyota car owner to just remove the mat or do an exchange of the mat.

I wonder if KIA is willing to do the same since window screen cracking could also result in fatal accidents .... or do they need to see a few cases of fatal accident before they react ....

Bro, you ever hear any 'piak piak' sound coming from your windscreen ? trying to see if the cracked has any link to this sound that many bros reported hearing....

Today's weather was terrible (34 degrees celsius) and i heard more 'piak piak' sound.........

but this cracking seems to be affecting many of the Sept batch Forte ....at least 7 cases already ?

If we travel far up North in Malaysia or Thailand and wind screen crack. Should we drive the car or shipped the car home. For safety, it is best to get the car tow back. But who is going to bear the cost of the shipment? Insurance (AIG) or C&C or from our pocket ?
This is clearly a manufacturing defect. We need to brain storm on this issue... We must arrange a meet with C&C and AIG as a team on this issue. Nov ?

Would suggest to send an e-mail to the CnC KIA management citing this issue. If they do not reply within a week with solution/fix, arrange for all Forte owners to meet at their office to demand for one or to the press and STORM we go.

Wah.... there is really a cause for worry to us who r driving Forte.....There are already 39 online cases plus many more who did not join this forum.
Our windscreen may seem alright now.... but we never know.... if it is a manufacturing fault, then this needs to be addressed at the highest level. I could be driving a time which could explode anytime.

I think its a mixture of EX and SX.

Collect 15th May, Cracked 11th Oct

Was driving along TPE yesterday, all of sudden hear 1 loud PIAK!!! sound & saw the cracked on the driver side. Haiz....juz now noticed tat the cracked line is getting longer.

wah 5 months already also can crack.. we need to find a pattern that the crack will appear.. is it because of temperature, or solar film, or speeding, or going up hump or simply because the driver is singing at that time

Maybe can start off weather in the above list anyone got put strutbar?

Spoke to the mechanic @ Ubi last Sat abt windscreen & fogging head lamps

Due to the design, there is no "buffer" betw the windscreen and the car frame. When "rub" too much due to vibration, especially at high speed, it cracks - DAMN WORRYING - what happens if after warranty???

Also due to the lousy design, our fogging head lamps is normal. They are now told not to change it bec it is no use - WILL fog again!!! Just ON head lights to evaporate the fogging!

Call C&C, appt tomorow 830am. As mine is opc, will drive in tonight & pass my keys to the guard, collect nextday by 7pm. Dun wana waste my coupon for tis.

I had this incident too. About 2 months back. At the point of incident, my ride was 4 months old. Initially, there was a dumptruck in front of me and i thought it was some stones that came out from the truck and hit my windscreen.
Now i know why,... they repaired my windscreen for free!
